Adventure is worthwhile!

-Mae antur yn werth chweil!-

Traveling requires coordination and skills that only experience can provide. I will talk about the ins and outs of personal and business travel. I will share with you important details I have learned on my own but wished someone would have told me!

Seven Ways to Make the Most of Your Vacation.

Taking a vacation, no matter where you go is always such an amazing time to seek adventure, relax and get away from everyday life that can wear us out.

For some people who work in a traditional office setting by day, getting away for a long trip can be few and far between. If you are having a tough time leaving the office for a vacation, you need to make the most of your trip!

Here are seven ways to make the most of your vacation.

1. Research Ahead of Time:

Unless you have a membership with a top concierge like Centurion or Sabio life, you will have to do all the work yourself because to be honest, there is nothing more disappointing on a vacation than getting there and realizing you have no plan and no idea how you want to spend your time. Of course, you do not need a play-by-play schedule of each day because you are not a professional concierge to have all the tools and access, but it is nice to have an overall idea of where you may want to eat, the places you want to see, and the day you want to spend time relaxing. It is nice to have a balance and plan in order to ensure you get to do everything you want to do.

90% of frequent travelers say the happiest vacations are those planned more than a month before the date. So if your recent holidays have been going south, chances are you waited until the last minute to learn how you will get around once you touchdown, who’ll be going with you, and where to stay. Therefore, for your next trip, brace yourself enough for it. Take time to learn as much as you can about it.

2. Wake up Early

I know many of us wake up early during the week and it can be hard to get up at the same time when you are in a magical place; however, I think it is even more reason to get up early! You do not want to waste any moment of your time there. Even if you relax as soon as you get up, enjoy a slow morning.

Have breakfast in bed, read a book, and watch the sunrise! You will experience dreamy views, a fun long day and capture some stunning photos.

3. Utilize the Amenities

Whether you are staying in a high-rise hotel in a world-renowned city or a dreamy resort on a tropical island, you will want to use all the amenities available to you.

Sometimes we are enjoying one aspect of our vacation that we do not try something else. If there is a hot tub in your space, use it. Does the resort offer childcare? Try it out, so you can relax with your spouse. You are spending your time and money to be there so you want to ensure you get the fullest experience.

4. Immerse yourself in the Culture

You do not have to travel around the world to experience a new “culture” on your vacation. Even if you are just in a new state, take time to become a local. Eat at the hole-in-the-wall-but-oh-so-good-restaurants, watch the local sports, participate, and wear the appropriate outfits.

If you are in Hawaii, this could mean you take a surfing lesson, eat acai bowls, and run around in flower crowns one night. It is all about enjoying the place you are in and being a blend of local, and tourist.

5. Go during a Holiday

If you have to use your vacation days sparingly, it is best to take a vacation during a week that has a national holiday. If you do this, you will be able to have a weekend, a full week, and another weekend at your destination. That way, you get almost 10 days to go on a trip and you only took off 4 days from work instead of 5.

6. Don’t Stress Over the Inevitable

Delayed flights, lost luggage, and bad weather are some of the things that might cause things not to go as planned. Unfortunately, they are inevitable, so there is nothing you can do to change the situation.

Therefore, when they happen, avoid over stressing about them. If you are an extremely organized person and like things to flow in the order you had envisioned them, then create wiggle room in your plan.

This way, you will quickly adjust to the new changes that just came up.

7. Pace Yourself

Some people ruin their vacations by trying to cram as many activities as they can within each day. It is understandable since your destination is so beautiful, and you will be here for only a few days, so you want to explore as much as you can within your time there. However, it is not worth it.

Sure, you will get to see different places, but you will deprive yourself of the real experience, and might even be too exhausted to go out the next day. Pace yourself and only include a few activities on your itinerary. In other words, choose quality over quantity. If you want to visit all the attractions in your destination, then join an exclusive concierge service like my personal favorite Sabio and come back after a few weeks or months, but do not try to do it all in three days.

Regardless of where you go, who you go with and what you end up doing, always remember to have fun above all!
